The Rock Island City Council accepted a bid Monday night from a contractor to demolish Lincoln School.
The bid from American Demolition was worth $444,600. It was the lowest out of the three offers received.
The move was the final chance to save Lincoln School. The city reached out to developers to see if there was any interest in redeveloping the old building, but there was no success by the July 1st deadline.
