Ag in the AM: Yield Projections Drop

The firm Informa Economics says corn yields will average 153 and a half bushels per acre

WASHINGTON, DC – This year’s corn and soybean harvest are now expected to be smaller than once projected.

A private analytical firm has made its projections as we wait for the government’s best guess to be made this Wednesday.

The firm Informa Economics says corn yields will average 153 and a half bushels per acre.

That’s almost a bushel and a half per acre lower than its last forecast. and a hefty ten bushels lower than early season projections.

The biggest losses in yield are expected in Kansas but Illinois farmers will also see a yield some 20-bushels lower than earlier trends indicated.
