Aurora man drowns in river
Authorities are also investigating the suspected drowning of an Aurora man friday in the fox river.
According to Aurora police, Gene Autry Pryor, 52, had been drinking with three friends near Veteran’s Memorial Island when he jumped into the river to cool off.
Pryor’s friends lost sight of him after a few minutes, then spotted him floating face down.
The Kane County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead Friday evening.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
