High water demand and reduced supply has forced officials for the Village of Carbon Cliff, Illinois to ask all residents to conserve water.

Village Well #4 was temporarily out of service for repairs.  The repairs are complete but below-standard water levels are still present in the storage tanks.

“The Village would like to reassure all of our residents that we do have plenty of water; however, the level of water in our storage tanks has fallen below what our Water Department feels is an optimal level,” said Village Water Operator Mike Whittington.

Carbon Cliff residents are asked to conserve water through July 8 by avoiding excessive water usage.  Specifically, residents should avoid watering lawns, filling swimming pools, washing cars, and any other unnecessary water use.
