Without $57,000, King's Harvest Ministries may be forced to shut its doors.

The meal site and homeless shelter, located at 824 W. 3rd Street in downtown Davenport, is trying to raise the money to replace its sprinkler system. In May, Davenport's Fire Marshal informed the organization leaders that according to international fire code, they were missing an adequate sprinkler system for the number of people they house.

Anne McVey, Fundraising Coordinator with King's Harvest Ministries, says they have no money to pay for the sprinkler system. "This organization has one paid employee. Everybody else is a volunteer. We go month to month so no, we don't have any funds laying around."

So, Exotic Escape Day Spa and Salon is using their blow dryers and foot massages to help. The salon, located at 2406 E. 53rd Street in Davenport, is asking customers to come in on Friday, June 29th between 10:00am and 8:00pm for a haircut or soak/foot massage. Proceeds will go directly to the King's Harvest Sprinkler Fund.

If you would like to make your own donation to the fund, you can go to www.kingsharvest.net and use PayPal or mail checks to King's Harvest Ministries at 5837 Wisconsin Avenue, Davenport, IA 52806.
