Good Wednesday morning, everyone! Chief meteorologist James Zahara here with your Storm Team 8 Forecast.
The year’s hottest weather takes center stage these next couple of days. This hot dome which has positioned itself across the Nation’s midsection the past several days with dozens of record highs will expand across the Midwest with the help of a stiff SW wind. By afternoon, the mercury should easily reach well into the 90s. I’m not worry about the humidity today but that will be a different story come tomorrow. Thats when the high heat and humidity reaches its peak with highs in the upper 90s with some local towns topping around 100 degrees. The humidity will be excessive with heat indices approaching 110 degrees.
Afterwards, waves of energy will ride along the periphery of this hot dome which will be just to our north. We may get grazed by a shower or thunderstorm in the days ahead with the better chances more north. Even though the humidity will continue to be felt through the weekend the temperatures may be trimmed with these storms..but not much.
