(WHO-TV) – Some big changes could be coming to the Iowa caucus process after confusing caucus results this year.

The caucus review committee made its final recommendations Monday.

Members recommend the GOP not name a winner when the margin between the top two candidates is one-percent or less.

The group also suggested shortening the certification process to 72 hours so results are in before the New Hampshire primary.

They also said training materials should be available a full year before the caucuses and leaders should consider reporting results electronically.

It’s all to prevent the confusion after the 2012 caucuses. Mitt Romney was declared the winner on caucus night only to lose to Rick Santorum when the results were certified two weeks later.
