Services planned for New Windsor soldier

The funeral home handling services arrangements for Cpl. Bryant Luxmore says visitation is planned for Monday and funeral services Tuesday at Sherrard High School.

Spc. Bryant J. Luxmore died during combat action in Afghanistan Sunday, June 10, 2012. 

He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Combat Infantryman Badge and promoted to corporal.

Cpl. Luxmore’s body is expected to arrive in the Quad Cities Saturday, June 16.  A hero’s welcome caravan and service is planned according to the funeral home making arrangements.

Dennison Funeral Home has arranged visitation for Cpl. Luxmore from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19.  Both events will be at Sherrard High School, 4701 176th Avenue in Sherrard, Illinois.

Cpl. Luxmore graduated from Sherrard High School in 2005.  He played collegiate baseball, attending  Monmouth College and then graduating from Illinois College in 2009.

Cpl. Luxmore is survived by friends and family including his parents, wife and son.
