Thieves have taken jewelry and cash during five daytime burglaries in the past month in Scott County, Iowa.
A statement from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department says the suspects first determine no one is home, then force their way into the victim residences.
In all five cases, the victim homes are in rural Scott County locations where the sit alone instead of those within housing additions.
The break-ins have all happened between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Police are asking residents to report any suspicious people or vehicles in their area, including description and license plate information, by calling 911 or the Scott Emergency Communication Center at 563-338-3904.
