The largest Midwest gathering of motorcycles happens this week at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa.
The Mississippi River Motorcycle Rally features vendors, music and LOTS of motorcycles.
The event raises money for several Quad Cities organizations. Proceeds from the 2012 event are earmarked for Children’s Therapy of the Quad Cities, Boy Scouts of America, the Injured Fire and Police fund and Christian Motorcyclists Association.
The MRMR opens at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 at the fairgrounds at 2815 West Locust Street in Davenport.
Motorcyclists are charged $5 per person for a one-day pass or $10 per person for a three-day pass. Spectators are charged $10 per person per day or $20 per person for a three-day pass. Admission is free for anyone with a military ID or members of IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union who show their bank card at the gate.
