Orion lifts boil order after water service disrupted
A boil order was lifted the day after it was issued for three areas of the Village of Orion, Illinois after a water main break happened Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
Water service was disrupted on Seventh Street between 12th and 15th avenues; on 14th Avenue between Seventh and Tenth streets and on 13th Avenue Court.
After water service was restored, those areas will be under a boil water order until further notice.
A boil order means water used for human and animal consumption should brought to a rolling boil for five minutes and then cooled before use.
City officials said the boil order was lifted by 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 13.
