A man and his sons were pulled from the Mississippi River when the boat they were in reportedly began to sink.

It was reported just before 8:30 a.m. at the slough near tee box five at the Arsenal Golf Club.

Initial reports indicated two people were in the water and that a boat was going under water there.

Moments later, rescue crews said they had pulled people from the water and into a rescue boat.

Authorities at the Arsenal later said three people were aboard a boat when the anchor became stuck on something underwater.  The boat was swamped as they tried to raise the anchor.

All three were wearing life vests and no one was hurt.

The swamped boat was removed from the river.
