ROCK ISLAND - Police are looking for a person who allegedly shot two people near 14th Avenue and 14th Street.
It happened around 5 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012. The victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police still had the scene blocked around 9 p.m.
Police say a fight broke out several blocks away, and that led to a man and a woman allegedly being shot. There's no word on what the people were fighting about or what caused the situation. Because of the large crime scene area, police had trouble investigating.
"It took a little while to get an idea of how large an area we were dealing with," Lieutenant Richard Landi said. "We had trouble figuring out where this all started and where it ended at."
Police removed the tape from the scene shortly after 9 though. They are still looking for a suspect at this time. However, police say they do have a couple of leads. Police also said Tuesday both people involved were innocent bystanders.
