Two people died from injuries suffered when two full-size pickup trucks collided head-on, and one reportedly burst into flames, in a crash on Route 82 north of Geneseo, Illinois.

The crash was reported at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 about a half-mile south of Route 92. About 20 emergency workers and their equipment shut down Route 82 at the crash scene for several hours.

Family members say 22-year-old Andrew Younger died at the scene.  Police confirmed that information the day after the crash.

Younger was a passenger in a truck driven by 40-year-old John Parvin of Sterling, Illinois.  Parvin died later at the hospital.

A third passenger in that truck, 36-year-old Darren Dykema of Rock Falls, Illinois, was hurt.

Clint Schipper, 21, of Geneseo, was the driver of the second truck.  He also suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Initial reports indicated that truck crossed the center line as it crested the hill, colliding head-on with a southbound pickup truck.  Police said the exact cause of the crash remained under investigation.
