The Milledgeville Lady Missiles still have a shot at third place in the state tournament after a tough 1-0 loss Friday, June 1, 2012.
Milledgeville was the home team in the noon semifinal game against Goreville.
Errors allowed Goreville’s first two batters on base but pitcher Emily Bush worked out of a bases loaded, no-out jam to hold Goreville scoreless in the first inning.
Goreville’s Taylor Odom hit her 23rdhome run of the season to put Goreville in the lead in the second inning.
Little did anyone know that would be the only score of the game.
Final score after seven innings: 1-0.
Milledgeville plays the consolation game Saturday at 9 a.m.
