The falcon chicks at the MidAmerican Energy site in Davenport, Iowa got tags and names Thursday, May 31, 2012.

Names were chosen from those submitted on the MidAmerican Energy Facebook page.

Congratulations to Eileen Vermeulen, Paul Metzger and Denise Turner for submitting the chosen names - Boetje, Glide and Horus.

MidAmerican Energy planned to give a gift bag and photo of the chick to each person who submits a name selected for each chick.

The first chick of 2012 hatched Monday morning, May 7, 2012.  A second egg hatched at about noon that same day, and a third egg hatched the next day during the lunch hour.

Scorpio, the female and P/D, the male, have raised more than a dozen chicks at the MidAmerican Energy site since 2003.

Four eggs were in the nest as of April 5 and three of them hatched.  The chicks are each banded so their progress can be monitored as they grow.
