Woman and 4 dogs escape Bettendorf fire
Flames reportedly shot 30 feet in the air as fire damaged the back side of a Bettendorf, Iowa home.
Neighbors called 911to report the fire in the 2500 block of Central Avenue just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
Fire department officials said a woman and her four dogs were home at the time of the fire. They all escaped safely.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof of the home to allow heat and smoke to escape.
The fire was under control at about 10:20 p.m.
The cause of the fire was not yet known.
No injuries were reported.
