The Davenport Fire Department will open its doors to the public.

As a part of Emergency Medical Services Week, Station 7, located at West 67th St., allowed visitors in to meet firefighters, tour the fire house and learn CPR.

This week, the other stations will be open on different days of the week.

It’s all to better the relationship between the public and those who are there on the medical front lines.

“People come in bring their children in we plant the seed of hey you know what being a firefighter is a cool profession,” Brian Jacobsen, a Davenport firefighter. “They grow up and they’re our future generation of Davenport fire.”

Other fire stations taking part are located on 53rd St., Scott St., Telegraph Rd., Harrison St., West Pleasant St. and East Locust St.
