Clinton closes road to rebuild railroad crossing

Workers will close Manufacturing Drive in Clinton, Iowa for four days beginning Friday, May 18, 2012.

The closure is scheduled to start at 7 a.m.

Crews will close the road between Valley West Drive to South 21st Street for reconstruction of the railroad crossing.  Traffic will be prohibited from crossing the railroad tracks during construction.

Drivers can follow South 19th Street as the detour route.  Motorists may also use Harts Mill Road to Mill Creek Parkway as alternative routes to get to Lincoln Way and to access shops and restaurants east of Clinton Memorial Cemetery.

Private access from Manufacturing Drive to businesses along the closed area will be available.

Manufacturing Drive is expected to reopen by noon Tuesday, May 22.
