The body of Dr. Rifagat Khan was pulled from the Rock River in Dixon Friday afternoon.
Witnesses say he and his son were out on the dock near Dixon High School when their boat got away from them.
Police say the father jumped in to try to pull it back.
That’s when his son went in after him.
The boy was able to be rescued, but the father was not.
