Farm buildings were flattened in the Crawfordsville, Iowa area when severe weather moved through several counties Thursday, May 3.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Iowa - Some farm buildings were flattened in the Crawfordsville, Iowa area when severe weather moved through Washington County, northern Henry county, and parts of Louisa county in eastern Iowa.

It's unclear if the damage was created by a tornado, but witnesses at the scene say the scattered debris and twisted metal makes it appear that it was.

There were no injuries.

Several areas are facing flash flood advisories from the National Weather Service because of the heavy rains seen overnight.

A weather spotter tells the National Weather Service office that 4.1 inches of rain fell in Washington County, Iowa overnight.

There are scattered power outages throughout the region.  At the height of the storm, more than 3000 MidAmerican Energy customers reported a loss of power.  That number has been greatly reduced.  A handful of outages remained mid-morning in the Quad City metropolitan area.
