Sterling Police say they arrested two men accused of possession with intent to deliver drugs near a church.

Police searched a residence in the 600 block of 9th Avenue just before 7 p.m. Monday evening, May 1, 2012.

As a result of the search warrant, police arrested Martin Cox, 43, of Chicago and Dontae Frazier, 23, of Calumet Park, Illinois.

Both men are charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Cox is also charged with intent to deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church.  First United Methodist Church is about 200 feet away from the residence where he was arrested.

At the time of his arrest in Sterling, police said Cox also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court to face a delivery of narcotics charge in Kokomo, Indiana.

Cox and Frazier were held in the Whiteside County Jail.  Police said additional charges were pending in the case.
