It's called "Transforming Transportation for Tomorrow," yet there are still many questions today.

Illinois Secretary of Transportation, Ann Schneider, will be at Centre Station in Moline on Monday, April 30th at 3:30 p.m. to talk about Illinois' new multi-modal transportation improvement program and also detail key projects included in the program within the Quad Cities.

Secretary Schneider has not said if the $9.2 billion program includes funding for the new I-74 bridge. The project is facing some funding challenges after it was revealed earlier this month that the Illinois Department of Transportation hasn't set aside its portion of monies, even though the Iowa Department of Transportation has.

The news caused legislators from both Iowa and Illinois to join together in a bi-state, bi-partisan delegation to push the federal government to make the project a priority. However, there's now rumors that a dispute between Illinois and the federal government could set the project back another three years. Construction is supposed to start in 2016.

Congressmen Bobby Schilling (R-IL) and Dave Loebsack (D-IA) have invited U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, to visit the I-74 bridge today while he's in the area, but as of Monday morning, they have not received a response.
