KEWANEE, Ill – Three Kewanee residents are spending some time in jail after they allegedly obtained Vicodin using forged prescriptions.
On Tuesday, April 14th, three Kewanee residents were arrested after allegedly using false prescriptions to acquire more than 13,000 tablets of Vicodin.
According to the Star Courier, Henry County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Lavona M. Nyert, 52, Steven C. McKeever, 57, Kimberly S. McKeever, 52. The three are charged with one county of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and 19 counts of forgery.
The three were taken to the Henry County Jail. Their bond is set at $50,000.
The Medicaid Fraud Control Bureau allegedly received information from the Kewanee police that three residents were using forged prescriptions from a Davenport doctor to acquire 13,300 Vicodin tables.
A medical assistant employed by the doctor reportedly arrested one of the three suspects.
