The Iowa Food and Family Project is inviting people to apply for the opportunity to see farmers at work as part of its “U On the Farm” project

DES MOINES, Iowa - You've got a chance to be a farmer: experiencing the sights, sounds, and speed of the planting process.

The Iowa Food and Family Project is inviting people to apply for the opportunity to see farmers at work as part of its "U On the Farm" project.

This month`s "U On the Farm" contest is sponsored by the Iowa Soybean Association and welcomes Iowans to participate in planting this year`s soybean crop.   Planting dates are weather dependent but the majority of the crop is expected to be planted between April 27 and May 11.

If you're interested apply on line at www.facebook.com/FoodnFamilies.

Those selected will receive a guided visit to a farm in their area, have lunch with an Iowa farmer, and get an opportunity to climb aboard a tractor to help plant this year`s soybean crop.
