The Mayor of Dixon announced Thursday that he will be holding an emergency council meeting Monday morning to discuss the immediate dismissal of Rita Crundwell.
Rita Crundwell, an award-winning horse breeder and longtime Dixon employee is being investigated by the F.B.I. for allegedly embezzled $30,000,000 from the city.
Dixon city leaders continue to work to pick up the pieces.
“We are doing everything we can to restore credibility and confidence in the city," Mayor Jim Burke says.
The mayor tells us that the city will be leading its own internal investigation as well as looking at how much of Crundwell’s assets can be returned to the city.
