First homicide of 2012 reported in Cedar Rapids
A 22-year-old Cedar Rapids man was identified as the victim of the first homicide of 2012 in that city.
KCRG reports Raphael Blackwell was shot just after 12:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 outside Woody’s Show Club at 9395 Sixth Street SW.
Blackwell was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said they thought the shooting might have been the result of a dispute between Blackwell and someone else. Investigators were reviewing several hours of surveillance video.
