Moline Police say people should be cautious about people going door to door selling magazines.

They’ve gotten several complaints about the salespeople, who might not be who they say they are. Police say they’re actually ripping people off.

Police stopped two of them working in a neighborhood and ticketed them for selling without the proper license. They also admitted that the magazines they’re selling aren’t for charity. The scammers are keeping the money and using it to fund their travelling sales lifestyle.

Police believe there is a group of about 40 people working around the Quad Cities Area, under the company name Midwest Circulation LLC. The company has 135 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and has an “F” rating.
