A grant from Kraft Foods will help the River Bend Foodbank deliver 75,000 more meals to those in need in eastern Iowa and western Illinois

The $15,000 donation was made in a presentation Thursday, April 12, 2012 at River Bend Foodbank, 309 12th Street in Moline, Illinois.

“The work of the River Bend Foodbank is critical to helping fight hunger in the Quad-Cities and 22 counties the Foodbank serves.  We know they can’t tackle the problem alone, and we’re pleased to partner with them on this important work,” said Steve Steiert, Plant Manager, Oscar Mayer plant in Davenport.  “Kraft Foods and its Foundation have a long history of supporting hunger relief, and we want to do that in the communities where our employees live and work.”

The Oscar Mayer Davenport employees also volunteered at the Foodbank during Kraft’s worldwide Delicious Difference Week in October 2011.

River Bend Foodbank serves 22 counties in and around the Quad Cities, providing meals to more than 10,000 people each week.
