Iowa Governor Terry Branstad campaigned in support of lean, finely-textured beef Tuesday during a visit to the Iowa State University campus.

Branstad said the product is connected to every part of Iowa agriculture, from processing plants to producers to raise cattle and grain farmers who feed the cattle.

Branstad wore a shirt that read, "Dude, It's Beef" at the ISU visit, where he said agriculture students are the perfect group to counter the negative image of lean, finely-textured beef - commonly called "pink slime".
