Woman robbed outside Sterling Library

Police hope someone can help them identify a man who allegedly snatched a purse from a 66-year-old woman Easter Sunday.

It happened just after 6:30 a.m. on the sidewalk in front of the Sterling Public Library, 102 West Third Street.

Police said the woman was walking on the sidewalk along the south side of the library when a man approached, pulled her purse from her and ran away northbound.

The purse was later found nearby, and the cash inside was gone.  The victim was not hurt.

The suspect is about 5-feet, 10-inches tall with a thin build and he is about 25 to 30 years old.  He wore dark-colored clothes and a dark baseball cap.

Images of the possible suspect were captured by surveillance cameras at a nearby businesses a few minutes before the robbery.
