(CNN) — Kim Kardashian is staying mum on the question of whether she is currently dating Kanye West – at least, for now.
Friday morning on the “Today” show the celebutante didn’t confirm she’s seeing the outspoken rap star, a day after he released a song on which he seemed to profess his “love” for her – but she didn’t quite deny that it’s a possibility.
“Kanye and I have been friends for years,” she told “Today’s” Ann Curry. “And you never know what the future holds or where my life will take me, so…”
She trailed off before adding that she likes Kanye’s newly released “Theraflu,” which touched off a media frenzy with the line, “I admit I fell in love with Kim.”
On Thursday, People magazine reported that the celebs had begun dating but were keeping the relationship “light,” according to a source.
The pair was photographed together recently coming from a screening of “The Hunger Games.”
In some ways, Kardashian’s hesitancy to admit to a brewing romance with ‘Ye makes perfect sense: after all, she’s still technically married to NBA player Kris Humphries, and embroiled in a divorce.
In addition to admitting that she’s “ready to move on,” the reality show diva insisted again on “Today” that their brief marital union was not a ratings stunt.
“Why would I marry someone? What, for ratings? I didn’t need that,” she said. “Our show [‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’] does amazing with or without the wedding.”
“I followed my heart,” she continued of her choice to marry Humphries, adding she had “absolutely” expected to spend her life with the athlete.
To stay sane, Kardashian implied she doesn’t read about her every alleged move in the press. “I haven’t looked on the Internet in a while; it’s a new rule in life,” she said.
