A West Liberty, Iowa man will serve up to ten years in prison after being convicted of third-degree sexual abuse involving a teenage victim.
Ricardo Becerra-Martinez was sentenced April 6, 2012 in Muscatine County District Court.
Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren said Becerra-Martinez sexually abused a 15-year-old girl in a vehicle parked outside a Muscatine residence October 30, 2011.
Becerra-Martinez was arrested early the next morning and has been jailed since that date.
Becerra-Martinez will serve his sentence at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center at Oakdale. In addition to prison, the court ordered him to remain under supervised release as if on parole for the rest of his life. Becerra-Martinez will also be required to register as a sex offender.
