It's a four year old murder mystery and a family looking for answers is again appealing to the public for help in cracking the case.

96-year old Harriet Crandall was still living on her own, when she was robbed and strangled in her Milan home in August of 2008. Crandall's house was set on fire to destroy evidence and cover up the crime.

Now her sons and their families have placed a simple sign in the yard where the home once stood, re-iterating a $3,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest.

''I miss my grandmother, she meant a lot. I still can't imagine someone could do this. We need people to step up. Somebody came home with a lot of money that night. You can't tell me somebody doesn't know something'', said Patty Burford, Crandall's granddaughter.

Police Chief Mark Beckwith says investigators have interviewed dozens of people and conducted several lie detector tests to get to the bottom of the murder case. All dead ends.

''We know there's people out there who know more than what they're sharing'', said Chief Beckwith. ''We're a long way from bringing anything to the States Attorneys office unless we get that one bit of information, where everything starts to fall into place''.

Anyone with information can call Quad City Crimestoppers. Their tip will remain anonymous.
