UPDATED: A 17-year-old was killed when the four-wheeler he rode crashed into a tree and rolled over him Saturday, March 31, 2012.

The wreck was reported just after 6:30 a.m. in the 17000 block of Falcon Road in Des Moines County, Iowa.

Ty Allan Warth of Sperry, Iowa, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead from the injuries he suffered in the crash.

Police said the ATV Warth was riding fishtailed for about 45 feet around a curve before leaving the road.  The ATV traveled another 47 feet through brush before it struck a cedar tree.

The impact of striking the tree threw Warth about ten feet from the tree.  Police said the ATV rolled over Warth and continued to roll about 40 feet before it came to rest upright.
