Body found in the Iowa River

Two people fishing found a man’s body Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Iowa River just south of the Highway 70 bridge in Louisa County.

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Department was called to the scene just after 2:30  p.m.

Emergency responders pulled the man’s body from the river.

An autopsy was performed by the state medical examiner’s office.

The man’s identity and the exact circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately released.
