A controversial drug continues to show promise in helping women battle Human Papilloma Virus.
A study says Gardasil, administered as an HPV preventative, can also help reduce the frequency of HPV-related diseases by as much as 46 percent.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says HPV is the most common sexually-transmitted infection. It usual clears on its own but can lead to genital warts and cervical cancer when it does not clear.
Gardasil’s manufacturer, Merck, funded the study.
