MOLINE – Some Illinois residents say they’re frustrated with the heavy volume of robo calls they’re getting from political Super PACS.

The calls are coming out because of the Illinois Primary on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

The calls can help residents decipher one candidate from another, but at the same time, when do the calls go too far? For one resident who suffers from a nervous disorder, enough was enough after the first call. The messages are coming from Mitt Romney’s super PAC.

“If Mitt Romney calls and talks to me you know that’s fine,” Moline resident Jeanette Wren said. “I’ve got plenty of soup on.”

The phone calls though aren’t coming from Romney. The phone calls are coming from the Romney for President super PAC. But the calls haven’t stopped yet.

“Then they called again, and so I said, ‘would you please stop calling us?’”Wren said. “But there’s no person there. You have to leave a message.”

On Wednesday, Wren got phone calls from the PAC just 20 minutes apart. One call came at 1:32 p.m. and another at 1:53 p.m.

“It’s annoying, and then when you ask them to take your name off the list,” Wren said. “They still continue to call. It’s unnerving. It’s just irritating.”

WQAD  got the same automated voice message when we called Romney for President.

The voicemail says, “Thank you for calling the Mitt Romney for President Office in Illinois. We’re sorry that we missed you, but please leave your name and number, and a brief message, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.”

With the primary Tuesday, the phone calls are trying to win over residents.  Some though are wondering whether all these phone calls are pushing people away.

Wren tells WQAD she’s gotten more phone calls from the super PAC since we left. The super PAC even invited her to a complimentary breakfast at the American Legion Building on Sunday.
