Strong winds spread brush fire in Long Grove

A smoldering burn pile was reignited by strong winds in a field in Long Grove, Iowa.

A smoldering burn pile was reignited by strong winds Tuesday. It happened in a field in Long Grove, Iowa around four o'clock.

Fire crews called in area departments to help. The fire burned about 25 acres.

No burn bans are in place, but firefighters say it's a good time to refrain from burning.

"Wind can move fire really quickly," said Asst. Chief Dustin Demuth. "If you do burn, pour water around the outside. But I would advise not to burn on a windy day like this."
