A Colona, Illinois man was killed when the truck he was driving crashed into the Hennepin Canal.
Police said they were called to 7thAvenue and 6thStreet in Colona at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012.
They arrived to find a 1997 Ford pickup truck partially submerged in the Hennepin Canal.
The driver, 36-year-old Christopher Phillips of Colona, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Phillips was the only occupant of the truck.
