Teen indicted for triple-fatal crash

Morgan Blakey

A grand jury indicted the driver of a van involved in a November 2011 crash that killed three Stark County teenagers.

Morgan Blakey, 19, of Toulon, Illinois was driving a minivan that crashed Tuesday, November 29, 2011 about two miles south of Kewanee on 2700 E.

Police said the minivan went off the road and crashed at about 4:30 p.m.

Levi Berg, 16, of Toulon, and Bradley Wood Jr., 18, of Wyoming were pronounced dead at the scene.  Kelsy Clifford, 15, of Toulon, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Blakey and a fourth passenger were injured in the wreck.

Police reconstructed the crash scene during their investigation in the days that followed the wreck.

A Henry County grand jury indicted Blakey Thursday, March 1, 2012.  The indictment charges Blakey with reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence.

Blakey surrendered to Henry County authorities that evening.  He was held in the Henry County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
