HENDERSON COUNTY, Ill. — A Dallas City, Illinois couple faces charges after a Gulfport, Illinois Police Marshal suffered injuries to his head when he was trying to make an arrest.
The Henderson County Sheriff said Keith DeJaynes was trying to arrest Heather Young, 29, of Dallas City, Illinois just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012.
During the arrest, DeJaynes “sustained injuries to his head”.
As a result, Heather Young and David Young, 31, were each arrested on charges of aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
Both were held without bond in the Henderson County Jail pending a court hearing.
Police Marshal DeJaynes was transported to an area hospital by Burlington Fire Department paramedics. Information about the severity of his injuries was not immediately released.
