Eleven fire departments responded to a fire in Bradford, Illinois this morning.  Green Gables Furniture Company almost suffered a total loss as nearly the entire structure is destroyed.

Joe Enhle of the Bradford Fire Department said when they arrived to the fire it was too hot for them to stay in the structure.  They had to fight the fire from the outside, eventually having to remove the tin structure to fight the remaining hot spots.

Enhle told us it took crews nearly 8 hours to fully extinguish the fire.  Only one storage unit of wood was salvaged.

There is no cause of the fire yet and the fire marshal is set to start his investigation of the cause tomorrow.

Green Gables Furniture Company was established in 1990 and employed over 30 people in the Bradford area.  The company made rustic furniture from various types of wood.
