Ultimate Fitness teamed up with WQAD and WQAD.COM to help 6 contestants get healthy in 2012!

Meet the Contestants

Each participant worked out at Ultimate Fitness under the supervision of a trainers and followed a fitness program specially designed for them.

After three months, two winners were  named and each winner received a round trip flight to Orlando Sanford,FL and hotel stay for 2 people. The winners  also received a one year membership to Ultimate Fitness.

Name: Jennifer Dailing

What is your goal in this Fitness Challenge: I would like to lose around 50 pounds, but most all to make myself healthy and give myself more energy to keep up with my four girls!

Why did you apply for the Fitness Challenge? I have used many excuses about not taking care of myself. I am tired of the excuses, but lack the motivation to act on it by myself. I saw this as a “no excuses” way to have help through this process. I want to be a healthy mom and be able to take care of my family for many more years! I’ve let myself go for the past 11 years while putting my kids needs first and now it’s time for some mommy time!

What is your goal in this Fitness Challenge: To lose at least 100lbs, so I can improve my daily living and improve my health. I want to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like an elephant is standing on my chest, because I am so out of breath. I want to make exercise a habit, and a part of my daily routine.

Why did you apply for the Fitness Challenge? I want to feel better about myself. This is the unhappiest I have ever been in my life. I want a second chance at life. I have completely changed my way of living for the good except my health. I want my kids to be proud of not only the change in my way of living, but the change in attitude towards myself and my self-esteem. I want to be a better person.

Why did you apply for the Fitness Challenge?

Living as a heavy girl is a very hard struggle not just physically but emotionally as well. I want to be as beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. Beauty comes from within and boy do I have that down pat. Now It’s time to see the physicalness shine. I want to not be Makensie and Ray’s fat mom. I want to run and play and enjoy not just my life but the REST OF MY LIFE AND THIS IS A GREAT START. Thank you so much for this opportunity… I won’t let you or myself down.

What is your goal in this Fitness Challenge?
Working with a trainer to determine my ideal weight and develop a plan that will allow me to reach that goal. In addition increase my strength, flexibility and aerobic capacity. My ultimate goal is to participate (and finish) in The Quad Cities Triathlon.

Why did you apply for the Fitness Challenge?

I need the help and realize that I don’t have the answers and can’t do it on my own.

I stay active, but just can’t make it to that next level of fitness. Admittedly I don’t have a plan and there is not a lot of rhyme or reason to the way I exercise. I am on again off again and know that I need to build a consistent routine in order to see real results.

When it comes to my diet; well there is no diet and I pretty much eat whatever I want. Fast food and snacks do not a healthy diet make. I also lack discipline when it comes to portion control. I really need help developing and maintaining a healthy diet and hope that I’ll be able to this with the assistances of my trainer.

Most important, I turn 58 this coming April and refuse to give in to the notion that I have to slow down. I may not be able to run a seven minute mile or bench press 300 pounds, but I plan to be the healthiest 58 year old “Ed” I can be. The best is yet to come.

What is your goal in this Fitness Challenge:

My goal in this fitness challenge is to lose weight and to get in shape and stay in shape. I have gained weight since high school and I have been taking the steps to change my entire lifestyle, being fit and in shape is a vital aspect of my life I want to change.

Why did you apply for the Fitness Challenge?

I applied for this fitness challenge to better myself, I will be getting married in July and I will be finished with my education degree in December but before I start in the classroom I want to be in shape and lose the unnecessary weight that I have been carrying around. This Fitness challenge is the perfect motivation to keep my personal goals on track and hopefully I will look as good as my bride to be in our wedding pictures!!!

What is your goal in this Fitness Challenge? I would like to lose 50 pounds of belly fat and add muscle. I want to get in better cardio shape also. So I have more energy to do activities with my children.

Why did you apply for the Fitness Challenge? I have struggled lately with getting in shape on my own. I need the structure and assistance the program offered. I enjoy a challenge. I am a very competitive person so being in a contest will help motivate me.
