Rock Falls teen surrenders in home invasion case

Alexis Velazquez was arrested when she turned herself into Sterling Police. She was charged in connection with a December 20, 2011 home invasion.

STERLING, Ill — Police say a 19-year-old Rock Falls girl turned herself in after she was charged in connection with a home invasion.

The alleged home invasion happened at Northland Park Apartments, 2100 Freeport Road in Sterling, Illinois at about 10 p.m. December 20, 2011.

Police later said they were searching for Alexis Velazquez, 19 and three others in connection with the case.

Alexis Velazquez reportedly surrendered to Sterling Police at about 9 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012.  She is charged with residential burglary, mob action and criminal trespass.  All three are felony charges.

Velazquez was held in the Whiteside County Jail.
