CLINTON, Iowa— UPDATED: Clinton Police said they had to use a TASER to subdue a man armed with a knife Wednesday, December 14, 2011.

Officers found a 32-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds when they were sent to a home in the 600 block of Eighth Avenue just before 8 p.m. Police said the stabbing happened at a home in the 700 block of Sixth Street.

That’s where they found the alleged suspect, 24-year-old Christopher Leonard, who reportedly refused to surrender to police. Police said Leonard was armed with a knife the two times he came out of the house.

The second time he went outside, officers used a TASER to subdue Leonard and take him into custody.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of multiple stab wounds.

Leonard was arrested on charges of attempting to commit murder and willful injury causing serious injury.
