Cubs broadcaster Pat Hughes is Quad Cities-bound

24 hours after his longtime Chicago Cubs broadcast partner Ron Santo was posthumously selected to baseball’s Hall of Fame, Pat Hughes has made plans to come to the Quad Cities for much more than a sightseeing trip.

He’s coming to town to lend a hand and help Brett Greenwood, the former Pleasant Valley and University of Iowa star still recovering after a heart attack this summer.

Hughes, who’s been the Cubs’ radio play-by-play voice since 1996, will be at Pleasant Valley High School this Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to sign copies of “Ron Santo: A Perfect 10,” along with co-author (and Davenport, Iowa native) Rich Wolfe.

All proceeds raised will go to benefit the Greenwood Foundation.

News 8 will have more on the special visit Tuesday on “News 8 at 10:00,” along with an interview with Pat Hughes later this week…
