The two -count complaint filed by the ARDC today cites Terronez for ”overreaching his position of trust as a prosecutor and engaging in criminal conduct. It also cites him for lying to police during the State Police investigation into his relationship with a teenaged victim in a case he prosecuted in 2009.
The complaint by the Disciplinary Commission includes racy text messages between Terronez and the teenaged girl. The ARDC alleges misconduct because of Terronez’s ”dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepsentation, condcut prejudicial to the administration of justice, and conduct which tens to defeat the administration of justice or bring the courts or legal profession into disrepute”.
A hearing on possible disciplinary measures will be set for a later date. The hearing board could suspend or revoke the former prosecutor’s law license.
Terronez resigned after peading guilty in April to providing alcohol to a minor, and sentenced to two years probation. He also forfeited his pension.
