List of candidates who want to fill Terronez’s term

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – —News 8 has confirmed the list of seven democrats seeking to fill the 18 months left on former Rock Island County States Attorney Jeff Terronez’s term.

A search committee is expected to reveal the names at a meeting tomorrow.
The seven include Herb Schultz, who came in second to Terronez in the 2004 election, Assistant States Attorneys Norma Kauzlarich and Mark Senko, who is interim States Attorney right now.

Retired Judge John Donald O’Shea submitted his application.

Two private-practice attorneys, John McGehee of Silvis and Bill Stengel confirm they have submitted their names for the job.

And Ron Stradt, a Moline native who works as counsel for the Illinois Education Association in Springfield is also on the list.

A search committee will interview the seven and forward a recommendation to County Board Chairman Jim Bohnsack.
