Trial delayed for VanHoutte
ROCK ISLAND, Illinois—A former East Moline teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student has asked that his trial be delayed.
Jason VanHoutte, 37, was scheduled to go to trial this coming Monday. On Thursday, A judge granted a delay.
VanHoutte was a coach and teacher at United Township High School. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault over the summer, in connection with a then 15 year old girl.
A status hearing on his case is set for next month.
